Business laptop recycling and recovery
Laptop fleets are refreshed frequently, but many devices remain useful after they leave their first corporate deployment. ITRecycle can assess redundant laptops for buyback or reuse before recycling is considered.
Business-class laptops from recent generations are generally more likely to retain value, particularly when chargers are included and devices are complete and functional.
What information should you send?
Include brand and model, processor generation, RAM and storage if known, quantity, approximate age, cosmetic condition, battery condition and whether chargers are included. Photos are useful for mixed models or devices with visible wear.
Data on laptops
Laptops normally contain SSDs or other storage. Tell us your required data-handling process before collection. Your organisation may choose to manage data internally or agree a handling process for data-bearing assets.
Reuse, donation or recycling
Working laptops that are not appropriate for commercial resale may still be candidates for donation. ITRecycle supports suitable equipment donations to schools in Cambodia, Thailand and Sri Lanka. Equipment that has no practical reuse route can move to recycling.
